Leather and Suede corsets
Consult a leather care specialist in your area, before
fixing or cleaning your corset.
Light scratches may be treated with specialty leather
conditioners and air dried. Suede may be brushed gently
with a soft brush to remove stains or marks. Suede
specialty cleaners are available.
Remember, Leather stretches over time. Hanging a corset
should only be done folder over the hanger.
Leather and suede corsets should not be stored in damp
areas or direct sunlight. Always store in a cool, dry
place. Leather and Suede need to breath. Always use cloth
or paper for storage.
Never apply steam directly on Leather or Suede. Never use
silicone-based products to waterproof your garment.
Preventative Measures
Wearing a protective garment under the corset will aid in
less frequent cleaning. Over time, dry clean chemicals
will deteriorate the fabric.
Woven fabrics such as
brocades are delicate and more prone to snagging and wear
by nature. Fabric wear varies from fabric to fabric,
and the the frequency of use.
New corsets must be properly broken in, before lacing
tightly. If a corset is laced too tight before it has
broken in, seams may split and fabric may tear as a
result. The amount of time it takes for the corset to
soften and conform to your body varies, and depends
primarily on frequency of use.
Our
designers use fine, select fabrics, multiple linings and
interlinings, reinforced stitching, as well as Quality
steel stays, busks and durable, 2 piece grommets in the
construction of their corsets. Properly caring for
your corset can ensure many years of enjoyment.
All corsets come laced
and ready to wear.
